Microneedling OVerview

At Fleur’t Studios, I set the bar very high in choosing the technology I use to ensure that my patients receive the safest and most effective treatments available.

Every device must:

  • be of medical grade quality

  • have scientifically proven results

  • be Health Canada approved

The InnoPen treatment, with its revolutionary InnoTip technology is such a device. You can feel confidant that you are receiving the highest quality service and products.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, or Mesotherapy, is a cosmetic procedure whereby tiny needles puncture the skin and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, the two naturally occurring proteins which provide structure and elasticity to the skin.

InnoPen is without question, one of the safest and most technologically advanced microneedling devices, delivering results which are second to none.

In addition, InnoPen creates micro channels in the skin which allows for greater penetration and absorption of nutrient rich serums such as hyaluronic acid, peptides, growth factors, vitamins, minerals, PRP and amino-acids.

How Does The InnoPen Microneedling Work?

The InnoPen Treatment which is typically completed within an hour.

During the procedure, April Lindenbach the medically trained InnoPen Specialist, will set the device to the desired needle depth and move it over the area to be treated.

The InnoPen lightly stamps the skin, puncturing into the second layer, or epidermis. When it comes to minimally invasive treatments, Micro-needling Collagen Induction therapy with the Innopen is clinically proven and is perhaps the most successful treatment available for the common signs and symptoms of aging such as wrinkles, loss of skin volume, and crepey skin.

The microneedling treatment even targets the dermis in such a way that it is clinically proven to minimize scars and stretch marks.

Microneedling triggers the body’s spontaneous healing process, stimulating cell proliferation and causing the formation of new collagen. This results in a thicker, more supple, cellular matrix. Results: visibly younger looking skin.

What can I expect from my treatment?

First your face is thoroughly cleansed with a gentle cleanser. Then a topical anesthetic is applied to your skin for 40 minutes before your treatment.

When the treatment begins, a sterile hyaluronic acid will be applied to help the Innopen gently glide over your skin. The needling itself typically feels like a slight vibration, and almost like a massage with tingling on your skin. During the collagen induction process, the tiny needles in the Innopen will penetrate through your skin creating tiny micro-lesions.  These Micro-lesions will trigger the production of your very own growth factors that  result in collagen production.

Downtime with Microneedling is minimal, however does differ from person to person. You should expect redness in the treated areas for the first 24-48 hours, and may feel similar to a mild sunburn.

During the next 48 hours post-treatment, you should avoid exercising, hot showers, massages, and sun exposure.  A full post-care kit will be given after your needling procedure.

When Will I See Results?

Results are typically seen shortly after the first treatment as the healing process triggered by the production of new collagen and elastin begins to take effect.

It may take a full month to see full results from one treatment

What skin concerns does Microneedling treat?

Microneedling is known to naturally smooth, tighten and target aging areas of the face and body. Microneedling treats and prevents wrinkles, aging skin, surgical and hypertrophic scars, stretch marks, acne scars and pitted scars, sagging skin, hyperpigmentation, UV damage, Rosacea, and Melasma.

Treating skin conditions such as Melasma and Rosacea with Microneedling can be highly effective. If you suffer from either of these similar skin conditions, you already know there are very few ways to effectively treat your skin discoloration concerns. Microneedling combined with Professional skincare targeting pigmentation and redness are  the most effective.

Within the consultation, we will determine if it is necessary to “pre-treat” the areas of concern 2 weeks prior to needling, for optimal results.

Treatments vary depending on skin conditions. We typically recommend between 3-6 sessions with 6 weeks in between sessions, and maintenance treatments 2-3x’s per year

Full Face - $225

Face/Neck/Chest - $400

Scar or Stretch Mark Revision - starting at $200 depending on size etc.

Post Care

A microneedling treatment is a procedure with certain inherent risks. If you follow your skin care professional’s advice and directions, the risk of complications in this procedure is small. Anything that you do against your skin care professionals advice increases the chances of you having complications. In addition, if you are under physical or mental stress, it is not a good time for a treatment.

Most patients who undergo this kind of a therapy have only a little redness for 12 to 24 hours (up to a few days for more sensitive clients). Occasionally, they may have very slight flaking and small white heads/papules in a few localized areas for 1 to 2 days. Still it is extremely important that you do not pick, scratch, pull or rub your skin during or after. If you do, you may damage the underlying new skin and cause scarring or changes in your pigmentation.

If, despite these warnings, you pick or rub your skin, you may alter the results, increase risk of infection and healing, and your skin care professional may not elect to perform any further treatments.

During the initial 48 hours after the treatment please avoid: extensive exercise, swimming pools, hot water including saunas, Jacuzzis, hot tubs. Avoid waxing hair removal in the treated area. Do not apply sunscreen for the first 48 hours. After the initial 48 hours, keep your face protected from the sun for a MINIMUM of 2 weeks. Avoid any other type of exfoliation for 1 week. Also be sure to clean your cell phone, change your pillow case and keep your hair tied back.

During the initial time of healing (2 – 7 days), you should only use the products recommended by your skin care professional. Do not apply any medications or glycolic acid products during this time or your skin may become irritated. Be sure to use sun screen daily after the first 48 hours.

Please realize these warnings are for your protection and it is your responsibility to follow this advice while caring for your skin at home. The motto in this office is if you are not sure if you should do something or don’t understand the directions, call the office before you do anything!
